While we do not do major foundation repair, sometimes we do minor repairs and leveling to homes that have shifted with the North Texas soil. This house had some floor issues where the beams under the house had shifted and were pushing outward.
The floor was pushing the sliding door and entire wall outward…
We dug far enough down to get under the house…
We used jacks and very long threaded 3/4 inch bolts to attach to solid bracing under the house, and used the power of the bolts tightening against the solid bracing to pull the side of the house back together. Quite a heavy chore, but it worked!!
Here is the finished product after we filled the dirt back in. It held itself in place and was a very cost-effective repair…

Very interesting, We are needing some foundation repair and the neighbors told us that they company they use charges 200$/pier that needs repaired. I am curious as to how many piers are beneath our home, so that I can determine the worse case scenario.

I just did an XP re-install: actual Windows only w/updates: that was 4 hours (on DSL) & no surprises to a boot-n-scoot.Add in system reconfigurations for security, delete rubbish from Toshiba app’s, defrags, install and configure Firefox (w/add-ons’) plus a handful of misc. utilities = 6 hours.Doing it all correctly AND throw in 2 hours of training* (so your customers know how to use it properly) brings the total to 8 hours.*This is a nice touch for small computer shops. It gives customers confidence in you & your work…keeps ‘em coming back for the little things.(lets face it, folks usually come in when the Windows is a complete wreck; which requires a formatted re=install)
